The new Comet 54s from Andrea Vallicelli's design studio sheds any fatuous claim to be absolutely all things to all people. This is a big-rig racer-cruiser with plenty of stability.

Hull and deck are constructed in unidirectional carbon fibre with epoxy resin and Airex foam core, with density varied throughout the primary structure. All the internal builheads are also built in carbon/ exposy / Airex sandwich to keep down finished weight.

A double backstay led to a pair of winches will allow good rig adjustment for racing while for pure cruising clients a single hydraulic backstay can be fitted as an alternative.
