The new 2010 Beneteau 35 will debut at the La Rochelle, Cannes, Southampton and Genoa boat shows this autumn. Hull design is by Farr Yacht Design, the interior by Nauta Design. The 35 boasts the same style coachroof popularised by the First 40.
The Farr Yacht Design hull is optimised for IRC racing and comes with the option of two drafts. The T-section keel gives a deep draft of 2.20 metres, whilst the shallow-draft bulb keel requires just 1.80 metres.
A choice of two zero-overlap rigs (with anodised aluminium masts and double spreaders) are also offered to meet IRC class regulations and make sail handling easier under race conditions. The Genoa sheet tracks are brought inboard for improved (closed) angle of attack and more deck space. The standing rigging is stranded cable as standard, whereas the racing version comes with rod rigging and carbon fibre backstay.
